Charging Stations

Charging stations are designated locations equipped with electrical equipment that allows for the recharging of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles. These stations facilitate the transfer of electrical energy from the grid to a vehicle’s battery system, enabling drivers to replenish their vehicle’s power supply. Charging stations can vary in capacity and charging speed, with levels generally classified as Level 1 (standard household outlets), Level 2 (faster charging, often found in public places), and DC fast charging (rapid charging that can significantly reduce charging time). Charging stations may be found in various environments, including public areas, commercial parking lots, residential complexes, and along highways, providing essential infrastructure to support the growing use of electric vehicles.
