Biathlon

Biathlon is a winter sport that combines two disciplines: cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. Athletes compete by skiing a set distance, during which they must stop at designated shooting ranges to shoot at targets with a rifle, typically using the prone and standing positions. The sport tests both endurance and marksmanship, requiring participants to be skilled in both skiing and shooting. Biathlon events can vary in distance and format, including individual races, sprint races, and pursuit races. It is governed by the International Biathlon Union (IBU) and is a featured event in the Winter Olympic Games.
